The incident occurred on July 25, after 9 p.m., near the City Center Gallery. The 25-year-old man wanted to take a bicycle from a teenager. First, he punched the boy in the face. When that did not work, he pulled out a knife.
The 14-year-old then handed over his bicycle to the assailant. The attacker rode away.
The man, who had already been convicted of property-related crimes, was arrested. Today, the District Court, acting on the prosecutor’s request, placed the repeat offender in temporary custody for three months. The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.
