The incident occurred on Friday, July 28. The driver of a Volkswagen with German license plates filled up with fuel in Germany and did not pay, then failed to stop for a traffic check. German police officers set off in pursuit of the man. The fugitive entered Poland and sped along the A4 motorway. Polish services joined the pursuit: the Border Guard and the police.
The man abandoned the car on the emergency lane near Kierżno (Nowogrodziec municipality) and fled into the forest. The chase continues.
It is also known that the man was fleeing because he was driving a stolen car.
