Radio Wrocław launched a promotional campaign at the beginning of May: “Radio Wrocław: Best in 2017, according to the European Radio Show 2017 in Paris. Thank you for your trust.” We appear on billboards in Wrocław, Jelenia Góra, Legnica and Wałbrzych. The advertisement is also visible on 60 buses travelling around Wrocław and Lower Silesia on routes to: Strzelin, Ziębice, Niemcza, Bielawa, Dzierżoniów, Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, Pławna, Braszowice, Wałbrzych, Wołów, Kąty Wrocławskie, Kobierzyce, Legnica, Miękinia, Środa Śląska, Sobótka, Jelcz Laskowice, Marcinowice, Oleśnica and Środa Śląska.
Radio Wrocław’s advertisement is present in several dozen local magazines published throughout Lower Silesia
“Our aim is to reach as many of our current and potential Listeners as possible,” says Tomasz Duda, president and editor-in-chief of Radio Wrocław. “That is why we use advertising media that we know our Listener will notice.”
More than 1,500 posters have been put up on advertising columns across Lower Silesia. In Wrocław alone, there are 120 such columns. The advertisement can be seen on screens installed inside MPK Wrocław buses. We are running the campaign on seven large-format LED screens, as well as on displays at the ticket counters of Helios, Multikino and Nowe Horyzonty cinemas. During events, patronage activities and other events, 10,000 leaflets will be distributed. Special self-promotional spots are broadcast on the radio, and advertising banners have appeared on our website. Social media have also been involved in the campaign.
Let us recall that the largest conference in Europe devoted to radio stations was organised in the French capital. Broadcasters debated innovations, legislation and the future of digital radio. Participants learned about the latest advances in radio technology and also discussed the advertising market and the role of radio in contemporary Europe.
At the conference, the best stations were selected in more than a dozen categories, including best jingle package, best online radio station and best programme integrating the local community. Some categories were limited to French-language broadcasters, but the most prestigious award is for the best non-French-language radio station, International Radio of the Year. And it was in this category that Radio Wrocław won.
This award has been presented for 25 years. Initially, both the conference itself and the competition were dedicated exclusively to French-language stations. For several years now, the radio trade fair has had an international format.
