The incident occurred on June 17 in Stary Węgliniec (Zgorzelec County). Officers from the Zgorzelec traffic police wanted to stop one of the cars for a check. The 23-year-old driver from Bolesławiec County initially slowed down, then drove around the police car and accelerated, heading away toward Węgliniec.
The woman did not respond to the officers’ signals to stop. Nevertheless, she was detained after a brief pursuit.
It turned out that the 23-year-old was drunk. She had more than 0.5 per mille of alcohol in her system. Moreover, it emerged that the resident of our county was subject to a court-ordered ban on driving motor vehicles.
The young woman now faces up to five years in prison.
