The incident occurred on Friday, June 16, in Raciborowice (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality). At around 5:00 p.m., a volunteer firefighter riding a bicycle past one of the buildings noticed smoke coming from it. Raciborowice firefighters: “He went to check what was happening. Because of the heavy smoke, he only managed to throw a burning quilt and cardboard box out of the window before notifying the fire service.

A man was in the smoke-filled room. Two firefighters from the Raciborowice Volunteer Fire Service carried the injured man outside and then removed the rest of the objects that were still smoldering. “Thanks to the quick response, no one was hurt and the fire did not spread. A few minutes later, because of the structure of the house, the fire could have engulfed the entire building,” the firefighters emphasize.

Fire service crews from Bolesławiec, Raciborowice and Warta Bolesławiecka, as well as an emergency medical team, took part in the operation.
