Semi-underground containers for glass, paper, and metals and plastics are located on Asnyka Street in Nowogrodziec: one collection point is opposite the sports field, while the other is near the intersection with Brzozowa Street.
Why was this solution chosen? Nowogrodziec officials explain:
These containers offer substantial capacity while using relatively little space, because their main part is located underground. The vertical storage system compacts older waste at the bottom of the container, where the lower temperature limits bacterial growth and minimizes unpleasant odors, while substantially increasing the container’s capacity. This type of container does not require waste to be collected frequently, making it possible to reduce transport costs.
They add: – The use of this type of container also helps solve the frequent problem of vandalism affecting the previous selective waste collection containers. Semi-underground containers are heavy, permanently installed, and sealed.
