Officers received information that a Volvo stolen in Germany might be hidden in Lubin County. The officers located the wanted vehicle in the Rudna municipality. A man from Legnica well known to them was inside the car. When he realised that he was about to be arrested, he began fleeing in the stolen vehicle. The police gave chase.
The man from Legnica drove onto a field, which immediately immobilised his vehicle. He then tried to escape on foot. Without success. He was taken to police custody.
The car, worth nearly PLN 200,000, was recovered. The 50-year-old suspect faces up to 10 years in prison for the theft.
