On 25 May, the results of the fifth edition of the nationwide Local Government Pearls ranking by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna were announced at the Emigration Museum in Gdynia. Deloitte is the ranking’s substantive partner. – The idea behind the ranking is to select the best mayors, town mayors and commune heads, as well as rural communes, urban-rural communes, cities with fewer than 100,000 residents and cities with more than 100,000 residents. All communes in Poland, regardless of their size, wealth or geographical location, perform the same tasks and duties towards local communities, as set out by law – the ranking’s authors inform.
Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman was recognized by the jury and Deloitte experts in the category of mayor of a city with fewer than 100,000 residents. (The Bolesławiec official ranked second).
In this year’s edition, the jury considered achievements focused on four different areas of mayors’ activity. It assessed how they performed the roles of manager, representative, coordinator and visionary.
