Police officers and Fisheries Guard officers detained two residents of Jelenia Góra County, aged 42 and 63, who are suspected of fishing in a section of the Bóbr River where fishing is prohibited due to the closed season.
The anglers explained that they were unaware of the ban and that they were fishing solely for their own use. The police secured the fishing equipment and the fish that had been caught.
The 42-year-old and the 63-year-old could now face up to two years in prison.
