Officers from the Criminal Division of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra detained a 37-year-old man suspected of theft. On 5 May, taking advantage of the staff’s inattention, the suspect stole property worth more than PLN 500 from one of Jelenia Góra’s discount stores: several bottles of whisky, a backpack, dog food and other items. He sold the stolen goods to people he happened to meet.

As it turned out, the man had been detained repeatedly for thefts from shops in Jelenia Góra. His haul included clothing, cosmetics, expensive alcohol and toys. As the man himself admitted, he stole anything that fell into his hands.

The serial thief now faces up to five years behind bars.
