The suffering of forest animals caught in snares is indescribable. The poachers who set them think only of their catch. An animal caught in this way often dies in agony. For this reason, hunting associations set up photo and video traps in the forests.
One such trap recorded a man setting snares in the forest. The police were notified and detained the perpetrator. He is a 48-year-old resident of Lubin Municipality.
Interestingly, the poacher noticed the cameras installed in the forest and stole them in an attempt to cover his tracks. It did not help him, however. He was charged with attempted poaching and theft.
The man admitted his guilt. He now faces up to five years in prison.
