On April 18, the “Prevention of Eye Diseases in Children” program, funded from the budget of the City of Bolesławiec, began. The program is intended for first-grade pupils at Bolesławiec primary schools. The provider is ophthalmologist Elżbieta Ośko – Individual Specialist Medical Care. The program includes:

  • visual acuity testing
  • computerized testing for refractive errors
  • fundus examination
  • guidance for parents on further procedures concerning the child.

The examinations are performed based on lists prepared and approved by school principals and according to the adopted schedule. The examinations take place at Chumed, 10A al. Tysiąclecia in Bolesławiec, and at Optyk, 13/14 ul. Rynek.

It is also worth recalling that in 2017, the “Screening Examinations – Prevention of Breast Diseases in Women” program has two providers: Centrum Medyczne Stomadent in Bolesławiec and Centrum Specjalistyczne Biomed in Bolesławiec. The program includes mammography with a report and breast ultrasound with a report. The preventive diagnostic examinations are intended for women aged 40 to 50 and women over 69 who reside within the city of Bolesławiec. The program does not cover people who in 2016 took advantage of diagnostic examinations financed by the Municipality of Bolesławiec as part of the prevention of breast diseases in women, except where repeating the examination is recommended by a doctor. The examinations are performed upon presentation of an identity document confirming the patient’s age, sex, PESEL number and place of residence, as well as any medical recommendation.

The examinations take place at Centrum Medyczne Stomadent in Bolesławiec, 21 ul. Dolne Młyny. Patients arrange appointments in person or by telephone at 75 734 68 68 (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.).

Another examination location is Centrum Specjalistyczne Biomed in Bolesławiec, 14 ul. Komuny Paryskiej. Patients arrange appointments for individual examinations in person or by telephone at 501 084 798 or 75 647 34 80 (Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).

The “Prevention of Tooth Decay in Children” program, meanwhile, is intended for second-grade pupils at primary schools. The provider is Chodyra Clinic Dominik Chodyra in Bolesławiec. The program includes an examination of the oral cavity: an assessment of dental health, with particular attention paid to the presence of carious lesions and malocclusions (preparation of a dental chart), for second-grade children attending Bolesławiec public primary schools. Parents also receive guidance on further procedures concerning the child. The examinations are performed based on lists prepared and approved by school principals, after the parent or guardian has first registered the pupil at Chodyra Clinic in Bolesławiec. The examinations take place at Chodyra Clinic. Clinic of Implantology and Orthodontics, 1/1A ul. Garncarska in Bolesławiec.
