The incident occurred at one of the retail outlets in Legnica. The victim, aware of his absent-mindedness and the fact that he had left his phone unattended for a moment, informed the officers about the theft of the mobile phone, worth approximately PLN 1,200.
The perpetrator was recorded by surveillance cameras. After misappropriating the phone, he went to the car park, from where he drove away in a passenger car. Within a few hours, police officers established his identity. The man was detained in the Kunice municipality. He handed the misappropriated phone over to the officers and was taken straight to police custody.
Moreover, it emerged that the 31-year-old was wanted by the prosecutor's office. He now faces up to three years in prison.
