Police officers from Jelenia Góra, together with Border Guard officers, detained a 34-year-old resident of Lwówek County suspected of possessing significant quantities of drugs and growing cannabis.

The officers seized 1,753 cannabis plants and nearly 8 kg of cut plants. The plantation was located in specially prepared rooms equipped with devices controlling, among other things, heating, lighting and ventilation.

Nearly 40 kg of marijuana could have been produced from the seized plants. The black-market value of that amount of marijuana is approximately PLN 1.5 million.

The 34-year-old was initially taken to police custody and then, by decision of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, remanded in custody for two months. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
