Before this year’s school graduates are the longest holidays of their lives. Some of them are linking their career plans to going abroad, which is why a policewoman from the Social Prevention Team of the District Police Headquarters in Lubin held a series of talks for young people.

The officer explained what dangers may await young people while staying abroad, what precautions to take before departure, where to seek help if they become victims of a crime, and how to recognize a job offer that may be dishonest.

Human trafficking is a crime on a global scale, occurring in most countries around the world; its essence is the enslavement of a person, which is why it is often called modern slavery. “Poland is what is known as a ‘middle country’, meaning that people are recruited both to come here and within our country for forced labour,” Lubin officers say. “That is why it is so important to educate young people who are just taking their first steps into adult life about the dangers that may await them abroad.”
