The fire broke out on Tuesday, April 4, at a plant producing rubber products in Iwiny. Firefighters evacuated 23 people; 2 of them were injured and taken to hospital. Below are photos of firefighters from Warta Bolesławiecka:
Six fire service units from Bolesławiec County and a chemical group from Legnica took part in the operation.
Investigators are determining the cause of the fire.

According to eyewitness accounts, a reactor used to dispose of waste exploded. Two plant employees, residents of Iwiny and Bolesławiec, were severely burned. The man from Iwiny was doused with a flammable substance. He caught fire like a human torch. His colleagues put out his burning clothes.
