On the night from Saturday to Sunday, police officers from Bolesławiec noticed a BMW traveling at excessive speed. The officers gave the driver a clear signal to stop. The BMW driver accelerated and began to flee. The officers gave chase.
While fleeing from the police, the 20-year-old drove through several towns near Bolesławiec. At times, he was traveling at more than 200 km/h. Near Czerna, he lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch. Neither the driver nor the passengers were injured.
The police determined that the car was being driven by a 20-year-old who did not have a driving licence. He was drunk. His blood alcohol level was one per mille. He now faces a sentence of up to 2 years in prison.
