A person entitled to park in such a space is a person with a disability and reduced mobility who is driving a car displaying a parking card. The holder of such a card may use special parking spaces in every European Union country, regardless of whether they are a citizen of that country. Regulations also permit a driver transporting a person with reduced mobility to park in such spaces, as well as employees of institutions providing care, rehabilitation or education for people with disabilities. However, one should not forget that the original parking card must be placed behind the car’s windscreen in a way that allows its front side to be read.

“Interventions by the Lubin police concerning unauthorised vehicles parked in spaces designated for people with disabilities are frequent. Therefore, we remind drivers that violating the parking ban in so-called designated bays will result in a PLN 500 fine, and the car will be towed at the owner’s expense to a guarded car park,” the officers say. “Drivers caught using copies of cards or documents belonging to deceased people must expect severe penalties. In such cases, the Criminal Code provides for between three months and five years’ imprisonment.
