– The special school’s new headquarters will be today’s Primary School No. 2 on Bankowa Street – said Deputy Starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak during a press conference held on Thursday, March 9, at the County Office headquarters. The county signed a letter of intent with Mayor Piotr Roman concerning the takeover of the “Two” building. A functional design was also prepared to determine whether the building was suitable as the new headquarters of the Powiat Special Schools and Institutions Complex. – Everything indicates that the building meets the requirements – emphasized Deputy Karol Stasik. – Naturally, it requires several adaptation works.
T. Gabrysiak added that he had met with the parents of the special school’s students. They welcomed the new concept “with great interest and a large degree of acceptance.”
According to the deputy starosta, the building on Bankowa Street is supported by, among other things, its location: all Bolesławiec institutions, cultural venues and sports facilities are close by. What is more, it is well connected to Bolesławiec’s exit roads, because the special school’s students do not come only from Bolesławiec.
If everything goes according to plan, adaptation work will begin during the summer holidays. The county is planning, among other things, an extension with a 16-person elevator. We will return to this topic.
