6 March "Manchester by the Sea"
After the death of his older brother Joe, Lee Chandler is shocked to learn that his brother has entrusted him with the care of his son Patrick and returns to his family’s hometown. Lee leaves everything behind and moves to Manchester-by-the-Sea, forced to confront the events of the past that led him to separate from his wife, Randi, and leave the town where he grew up.
13 March "The Teacher"
The early 1980s in Czechoslovakia. The headteacher of a primary school calls an emergency parents’ meeting. Allegations are made against the kind, empathetic teacher Mrs Drazděchová. She is accused of using students to manipulate their parents. In this way, she supposedly secured free help with household chores, appliance repairs and even an affair. Will any of the parents oppose the headteacher’s accusations? Will the conspiracy of silence bring down the teacher?
20 March "La La Land"
A romantic comedy starring two of Hollywood’s hottest young actors, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Mia is an aspiring actress who works as a waitress while waiting for her big break. 27 March "Silence"
17th century. Two young Jesuits travel thousands of kilometres to secretly enter Japan, where a ruthless struggle against Christianity is taking place. The missionaries search for their teacher, a famous priest renowned for his courage, about whom rumours circulate that he has renounced the Catholic faith and become a Buddhist monk. What they experience will put their survival skills, as well as everything they believe in, to the most severe test.
