On Thursday, 2 March at 6 p.m., the Forum Hall will host the premiere of a dance performance by participants of the Contemporary Dance Workshop at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. The author of the performance “KAIROS – Make Use of Time”, which involves nearly 70 people, is instructor Halina Bałacka-Kłak. Recordings and sound editing were done by Piotr Gnyszka, lighting by Leszek Rzepka, and sound reinforcement by Krzysztof Korczyński. Admission by invitation! The following day, at 10 a.m. and noon, the performance will be seen by students from Bolesławiec schools.
Participants in the Contemporary Dance Workshop practise in three age groups:
- PROMYKI for children aged 7–9
- NOCTURN participants aged 10–15
- MODUS for young people over 15.
The young dancers win prizes and distinctions at regional and national competitions. The dance performances presented by the workshop in the Forum Hall have enjoyed enormous popularity. In September 2014, the dance performance “From a Single Lump of Clay” premiered. Through dance, the performers told the story of Bolesławiec ceramics over the centuries. The performance featured, among other things, Joppe’s famous pot, the wartime period, work in communist factories and, finally, the present day. In April 2015, the workshop presented the dance performance “Metanoia”, which premiered in April 2012 at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. In December 2015, the dancers took part in a musical production based on the fairy tale “The Lion King”, prepared by the music and dance workshops of BOK – MCC.
