On Sunday, October 12, TOP Bolesławiec’s volleyball players played an away match against Pogoń Góra. The beginning of the match was even. Bolesławiec took the lead thanks to effective attacks by the middle blockers (Świerzewski and Bondrow). Towards the end of the first set, TOP made several errors in attack and defense, making things tense on the court. Fortunately, our volleyball players won the set 28:26.
TOP Bolesławiec’s volleyball players began the second set very confidently. Our team led by as many as 8 points. This substantial lead was the result of Kaczurowski’s effective serving. Meanwhile, Czarniecki’s precise sets enabled Bolesławiec to launch effective attacks. TOP defeated its opponents 25:18 in the second set.
The third set began with Pogoń taking the lead. Bolesławiec’s errors in reception and in finishing attacks led to a 12:7 score in favor of Góra. Wiatrowski replaced Włoszczyński on the TOP team. Bolesławiec fought back, but ultimately lost the set 20:25.
The match was decided in the fourth set. Coach Mienculewicz effectively motivated his players. Bolesławiec played very effectively. Libero Biczak, whom the opponents had served at throughout the previous three sets, played well in defense. Marcinkiewicz also scored important points for TOP. Bolesławiec won the fourth set 25:14 and the entire match 3:1.
