The incident took place on Valentine’s evening in Legnica. Traffic police officers noticed an unlit Fiat Marea towing a Volkswagen Polo and moving across the entire width of the road. The officers stopped both drivers. During their conversation with the two men, they detected a strong smell of alcohol. The driver doing the towing—a 38-year-old resident of Legnica—had a blood alcohol level of 0.7 per mille. Interestingly, the person being towed, a 50-year-old resident of Legnica, was less intoxicated than the driver doing the towing, as he had 0.6 per mille in his exhaled breath.
Both drivers now face up to two years in prison.
