Officers from the Lubin District Police Headquarters, driving past one of the shops in the Przylesie estate at night, noticed that there was a man inside who was certainly not doing his shopping there at that hour. It turned out that the 29-year-old had damaged the entrance door and gone inside.
The duty officer sent additional patrols to the scene because the shop has a large floor area. The officers began searching the premises, checking places where the burglar might be hiding. At one point, they noticed part of the damaged suspended ceiling. The delicate structure could not withstand the weight of the 29-year-old Lubin resident, and the suspect fell straight into the police officers’ hands.
The man managed to steal only a small amount of money. He was taken into police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
