Police officers from Karpacz identified and arrested a 33-year-old man suspected of property damage and breaking into a car. From October to January, the suspect committed four offences in Karpacz. On three occasions, he poured paint over the façade of one of the guesthouses, causing damage amounting to PLN 22,000. Moreover, during the night of 26–27 January, he broke into a Fiat Uno and stole property worth approximately PLN 13,000 (documents, skis with poles, a backpack and a briefcase).
Based on the information gathered and an analysis of city surveillance footage, officers arrested a 33-year-old resident of the Janowice Wielkie municipality. At his home, they found some of the items originating from the aforementioned break-in.
The 33-year-old admitted guilt. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
