– Please intervene regarding the road in Ocice before someone gets hurt – a resident of Ocice told istotne.pl. – This road was supposed to be renovated three years ago; it was also supposed to be done this year, but once again it has been put on hold. The road from Bolesławiec to Lwówek is closed, and everyone is using this route, trucks and all. Houses are cracked, and trucks drive onto the pavements.
Indeed, during the January session of the Bolesławiec County Council, local officials withdrew the task involving the reconstruction of the Ocice–Brzeźnik–Mierzwin county road because, as starosta Karol Stasik explained, they had not received funds from the state budget to carry out the project. – After consulting with the head of Bolesławiec Municipality and the Lwówek starosta, we want to introduce the Ocice–Brzeźnik–Włodzice project. In other words, the same project, but extended to include Włodzice, in order to increase the chances of obtaining funds from the state budget’s general reserve – explained the head of the County Board.
Kazimierz Gawron, an opposition councillor, called this road one of the two worst in the county. He asked: – Is an option being considered to at least repair the section that is in the most disastrous and tragic condition?
Karol Stasik replied that if the County does not receive the money, it will consider carrying out half of the project. The county government intends to allocate PLN 800,000 for this purpose, while Bolesławiec Municipality will provide PLN 1.2 million. The deadline for submitting applications for co-financing the investment from the state budget’s general reserve is 15 February. We will return to this subject.
