– This is an important, historic day for Lower Silesia and Legnica – Marshal Przybylski said. – It is a substantial amount, but the successful reconstruction of Jaworzyńska Street, improving the safety of vehicle and pedestrian traffic and increasing the mobility of the transport system linking the city with the A4 motorway, investment areas in LSSE and the S3 road under construction, was very necessary and much anticipated. We also aim for the sustainable development of all subregions, including Legnica. This is the first grant of its kind, but not the last – the marshal added.
– I am pleased that the Marshal’s Office rates our strategic investment, which is significant beyond the region, so highly. Our project was recognised as having been prepared very professionally, which is also gratifying and satisfying – said Tadeusz Krzakowski.

Marshal Cezary Przybylski stated that, by financing Jaworzyńska Street from the city budget, the mayor had made a risky but courageous decision. That courage paid off, and the determination demonstrated that it had been worthwhile. The cost of reconstructing Jaworzyńska Street is more than PLN 51 million.

The two partners also agreed on the urgent need for the state authorities to finance and carry out another Legnica investment: completing the construction of the south-eastern bypass, a 2.5-kilometre section running outside the city limits.
