Police were informed of acts of vandalism at the sports and recreation center in Zgorzelec. Based on the collected evidence, including surveillance footage, the officers handling the case identified the people suspected of committing the offense.
The perpetrators were a group of teenagers aged 16–17. Officers established that on the night of January 7–8, the suspects entered the grounds of the closed sports facility, where they held a drinking party. After some time, four of the teenagers began vandalizing the stands. The vandals kicked and broke the backrests, tore out entire seats and then threw them. In total, they destroyed 65 seats.
The teenagers then noticed a delivery van parked in the lot and directed their aggression at the vehicle. They jumped on the van, kicked it, smashed its windows, and tore off its mirrors and doors.
The two 17-year-olds now face up to five years in prison. The two younger teenagers will answer for their actions before a family court.
