The first collision took place at around 4:00 a.m. near Czerna (Nowogrodziec commune). A resident of Kielce, driving a Renault, hit an energy-absorbing barrier. He was not seriously injured; he was fined PLN 250.

The second incident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. A reader wrote to us:

The incident took place in Łąka, right at the entrance toward Wrocław. There was an ambulance, the fire brigade and a traffic jam—both on the motorway and at the entrance. Some drivers managed to reverse back to the roundabout; unfortunately, I could only reverse far enough to drive in the opposite direction.

It turned out that the Mercedes driver failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions, skidded and also hit an energy-absorbing barrier. The man emerged from the collision unharmed. He was fined PLN 300.
