Officers from the Police Station in Bogatynia detained on December 30 a 29-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County who was wanted under a European Arrest Warrant by the German prosecutor’s office. How did this happen? The station’s duty officer received a report of a brawl in one of the apartments in Bogatynia. During the intervention, while checking the identity of the man involved in the brawl, the officers established that he was wanted by investigators from Germany.
The 29-year-old is suspected of numerous property thefts that took place in Germany in 2013. The resident of Zgorzelec County was detained and then taken to the District Court in Jelenia Góra, which ordered his temporary detention for 7 days. During this time, further procedures will be initiated to hand the man over to German law enforcement authorities.
