Police officers from Pieńsk detained a 22-year-old man who, wanting to avoid punishment, had been hiding from the justice system. The man was wanted by a court in Poznań. (The 22-year-old has a prison sentence to serve for online fraud committed across the country.)
The young man offered the officers a total of PLN 150,000 to discontinue further official proceedings and release him. The wanted fraudster claimed that he would bring the promised money in half an hour. He added that he had defrauded many people of large sums of money, so he could afford it.
The 22-year-old was taken to police custody and then to prison, where he will serve his sentence for the crimes he had previously committed. He now additionally faces up to 10 years for attempting to offer the officers a financial benefit.
