There were more people who convinced the concert organiser, Ewa Lijewska-Małachowska, director of BOK-MCC, and the pairs of tickets go to: Grażyna Dubina, Małgorzata Lehmann, Justyna Paszek, Joanna Przybylska, Wiesław Subotkowski, Natalia Stróżyńska and Krzysztof R. Wróblewski. Their explanations of why they should receive tickets to the concert were moving and very heartfelt, showing how important organising concerts is to people. It is not only one item on the cultural programme; it is about fulfilling dreams, returning to one’s youth and experiencing many positive emotions. Thank you.
Ewa Bem will sing accompanied by outstanding musicians: Andrzej Jagodziński on piano, Robert Majewski on trumpet and flugelhorn, Adam Cegielski on double bass, and Czesław “Mały” Bartkowski on drums.
The singer has recorded more than 20 albums and performed at hundreds of concerts. She has repeatedly won prestigious music awards, including Singer of the Year from Jazz Forum magazine, and has won Fryderyki awards and been honoured at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. She is known as the “Polish Ella Fitzgerald”—a wonderful vocalist and an exceptional personality with impeccable stage manners.
Ewa Bem is one of the most outstanding Polish singers, and in jazz circles she is considered the first lady of Polish jazz. She began her career with the Bemibek group, an ensemble that was exceptional for its time on the Polish music scene. She has worked with the biggest names in Polish jazz, including Wojciech Karolak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jan “Ptaszyn” Wróblewski, Marek Bliziński and Henryk Miśkiewicz. Since 1987, with short breaks, she has worked with Andrzej Jagodziński, a pianist, arranger and composer, and another major figure on the Polish music scene. The diversity of her repertoire is undoubtedly one of the strengths of Ewa Bem’s concerts. During the concert in Bolesławiec, in addition to the artist’s greatest hits, we will also hear songs by other Polish performers, such as Andrzej Zaucha, Czesław Niemen, Marek Grechuta, and the bands Skaldowie and Czerwone Gitary. You are warmly invited.
Tickets, priced at PLN 60 and PLN 80, are available at the cinema box office. Reservations on the Forum cinema website.
