The awards are granted for the effort put into studying and the desire to continually expand one's knowledge. Stanisław Chwojnicki, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board, said: “You are our source of honor, pride and an example to others. Thank you for giving us, in such an exceptional way, hope for a better tomorrow amid today's fast-paced life.”

Prime Minister's Scholarships are awarded to winners of international olympiads, as well as winners and finalists of nationwide subject olympiads. Scholarships are also awarded to upper-secondary school students achieving the highest academic results (under an individual curriculum or course of study), and to winners of competitions for research papers organized by scientific institutions or associations.
