Municipal rescue guards went to the scene. During the conversation with the elderly woman, it became clear that she was in good physical condition and answered questions logically. However, she did not remember how she had ended up in central Jelenia Góra; she had no documents with her. After a few minutes, the guards managed to establish her name and date of birth. She said that she lived somewhere nearby but could not remember the name of the street.
It turned out that the woman really did live near the scene. She told the officers that she lived there with her son. However, her son was not in the 92-year-old woman’s flat. The woman’s mobile phone was lying on the table. It turned out that her son had called her number repeatedly. When the guards contacted him, it emerged that the man had been looking for his mother for several hours and was at the police station, where he had reported her missing.
The guards appeal to people to equip elderly relatives with small key fobs bearing the phone number of the person who should be notified in the event of such an incident.
