Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained two men, aged 26 and 28. The younger man is suspected of possessing a significant quantity of drugs, while the older man is suspected of attempting to offer the officers a bribe.
Both suspects were detained on December 3, at around 5:00 p.m., on Chłopska Street in Jelenia Góra. Police stopped an Audi carrying two people: a 28-year-old driver and a 26-year-old passenger. The latter was behaving very nervously. Moreover, there was a clear smell of marijuana inside the vehicle.
It turned out that the passenger was carrying nearly 320 retail portions of the drug. He had hidden the marijuana in his trouser leg. The driver, meanwhile, did not have his driving licence and was therefore fined PLN 50. When he heard that his friend was being detained, he offered the officers a bribe: PLN 200 each or 10 grams of marijuana each.
Both men were taken into police custody. Each could face up to 10 years in prison.
