Police officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then arrested a 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra. The crime was committed during the night of October 29–30 in Jelenia Góra. The suspect was drinking alcohol with a friend. At one point, he came up with the idea of moving furniture standing outside the building of a computer company. (It was intended for disposal.) The teenager failed to do so, and instead… set a bin on fire, causing the furniture to catch fire. The fire spread to the warehouse building. The façade and part of the roof burned, as did computer equipment. The owner estimated the losses at PLN 50,000.
What is more, it turned out that two people staying in the apartment above the company’s warehouse could have died because of the vandal’s stupidity.
The 19-year-old confessed to the crime. He is under police supervision. He could face up to eight years behind bars.
