The plan to break into the church was simple. Climb to the first floor using a ladder, force open a window, empty the church collection boxes and escape. The idea of the 29-year-old resident of Chojnów almost worked… A priest notified the police of the break-in after immediately noticing the broken security features on the church collection boxes. The burglar took PLN 300, while the damage he caused was estimated at PLN 900.
After gathering initial evidence, criminal investigators from Chojnów identified the suspect. The 29-year-old resident of Chojnów was arrested and taken into police custody. The man faces up to 10 years in prison.
