Ladies and Gentlemen,

Work in local government accounted for most of my professional activity. Seventeen years of work within the structures of Powiat Bolesławiecki, that is, since its establishment, including more than two years serving as Starosta, was a time of many challenges, responding to residents’ needs, solving their problems, and achieving successes.

The reason for submitting my resignation is the illness I am struggling with. This is a difficult situation for me primarily because I am not only stepping down from chairing the work of the powiat board, but am also saying farewell to my work at the Starostwo altogether.

I would like to thank everyone who supported me in my work for the powiat:

I thank the heads and employees of the Starostwo, who were able to build an institution that is competent and friendly to residents.

I thank the school principals and teachers, with whose help we managed to create a functional powiat education system, which is our distinguishing feature in Lower Silesia and throughout the country.

I thank the directors and managers of the powiat’s organizational units, the heads of services, inspectorates and guards, as well as the employees of these units, for their work and commitment.

I also thank the local government officials with whom I had the pleasure of working:

  • Cezary Przybylski – Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship,
  • the starostas with whom we so effectively carried out partnership EU projects,
  • the starostas of Rhein-Sieg and Bautzen counties, and the head of the Prnjavor municipality.

I sincerely thank the heads of our municipalities for their help and goodwill toward the powiat.

I extend special thanks to the representatives of associations and social organizations with whom I had the pleasure of working. Thanks to their initiative and commitment, we managed to lay the foundations of a powiat identity—a kind of “common denominator” of the history, experiences and achievements of the residents of six, after all, different municipalities.

In thanking the Powiat Councillors, I express my hope that the priorities developed and in force to date will be maintained.

Furthermore, I declare that, if my health allows, I will continue working for the powiat as a councillor, proposing positive initiatives and supporting the work of the new Starosta and the Powiat Board.
