Dariusz Kwaśniewski was a teacher, worked for many years in the education department of the District Office, served as a District Councilor, was a member of the District Board and served as district governor (2014–2016). He died in 2017 after battling an illness for several months.
Dariusz Kwaśniewski arranged for the Old Theatre to be renovated. He always supported the activities of the Youth Cultural Centre. The plaque commemorates his name and commitment.
Among those who spoke at the ceremony was the current Bolesławiec district governor, Tomasz Gabrysiak. He recalled the time when he was starting work in Bolesławiec and said that it was Dariusz Kwaśniewski who helped him with several matters.
Immediately after the plaque was unveiled, the performance “Memory of Things,” dedicated to the memory of the former district governor, was held. The production was prepared by the FormaT theatre workshop operating at the Youth Cultural Centre. The performers were: Izabela Krestow, Anna Chwastyk, Eliza Sondaj, Agata Drużga, Laura Mól, Filip Zarubiński, Piotr Chwastyk and Jakub Wolszczak.
