The 1885 building, constructed in the Northern Renaissance style and formerly the seat of a Masonic lodge, has benefited greatly from the demolition of the unsightly storage extension and the installation of damp-proofing. In subsequent years, the playground on the kindergarten grounds was modernised, and the interior of the building was renovated. The work included replacing the window frames and internal doors, replacing the electrical and central-heating systems, renovating the floors, applying skim coat and painting the rooms. The boiler room was modernised and the fire-hydrant system was reconstructed. The historic entrance doors to the kindergarten building were also reconstructed.
This year, it was time to replace the fence along the southern and western sides. The work began in October. On the southern side, facing the road, the plans include building a wall and clinker-brick posts, and installing steel panels, a wicket gate and a main gate. Work on the western section of the fence includes, among other things, dismantling the existing panels, repairing damaged sections of the plinth and completing the fence.
