The owner of a car reported to police officers in Zgorzelec that an unknown perpetrator had stolen his vehicle during the night. The officers notified all police units about the incident. Meanwhile, police officers from Chojnów (Legnica County) spotted the car. It had German registration plates. The officers decided to stop its driver for a check. The man did not respond to the light and sound signals; on the contrary, he began to flee.

On one of the streets in Chojnów, he abandoned the stolen car and continued fleeing on foot. He was arrested shortly afterward. It turned out that the vehicle driven by the 27-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County had been stolen in Zgorzelec several hours earlier, and that the German registration plates had been transferred from another car to disguise it.

Moreover, it turned out that the 27-year-old had also stolen another car. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
