An officer from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, driving home after finishing his duty, noticed a vehicle weaving ahead of him. He followed it for a while and, at a safe location, when the driver briefly stopped the car, prevented him from continuing to drive.
During the conversation with the driver, the officer detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him. The 65-year-old resident of Złotoryja County was handed over to a police patrol. The traffic officer’s suspicions were confirmed. The 65-year-old was drunk, with nearly 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. Moreover, his vehicle did not have a valid technical inspection. The detainee now faces up to two years in prison.
