Three men came up with a fraud scheme. They decided to sell cheap fuel wholesale to farmers at PLN 3 per litre. The problem was that the 400-litre barrels contained nothing but water.
On that fateful day, the fraudsters arrived at a farmer’s home in a town near Legnica. He remembered that the con men had defrauded his sister-in-law a year earlier. The man did not hesitate for long: he lured the men into his yard and locked them up with his dog, then called the police.
Police detained three men, aged between 23 and 61, and secured the vehicle along with the fraudulent fuel. The fraudsters face up to eight years in prison.
