Tomorrow we will find out whether Dariusz Kwaśniewski will in fact resign from the office of district governor. At the urgently convened press conference, his statement is to be read by council chairman, Karol Stasik. If the district governor resigns himself, an absolute majority of votes will be sufficient to appoint his successor, meaning 11 votes in the case of Bolesławiec County.
In our opinion, a coalition is likely: Platforma, SLD, Gospodarze w powiecie (Piotr Roman’s people), and independents. The coalition would therefore have the following 12 councillors:
- Kozak
- Kwaśniewski (Jadwiga Bobek?)
- Potyszka
- Stasik
- Bojanowski
- Kawka
- Mitera
- Chwojnicki
- Kalus
- Bakalarz
- Król
- Puzio
It is not known whether Dariusz Kwaśniewski will also resign his councillor’s mandate. If so, Jadwiga Bobek will take his place.
Let us recall that the current district governor has been suffering from a neurological illness for almost a year. Recently, he did not appear at the district office at all, nor was he present at County Council sessions. The absence of a leader led to a split in the Platforma, PSL, and SLD coalition. Two PSL members, Ewa Sondaj and Ewa Suchecka, withdrew from the agreement, while Kazimierz Gawron himself betrayed Platforma.
We will learn more details tomorrow at 11:00.
