Bolesławiec – in the category of county cities in 2016 – received the title for its special commitment to developing the city’s spatial environment, including preserving and protecting cultural heritage through effective revitalization efforts, as well as implementing a spatial information system that enables residents to actively participate in decisions concerning the city’s spatial environment.

The results of the “Leader in Sustainable Spatial Management” competition were announced during the 14th Congress of Polish Cities in Wałbrzych. The Grand Prix went to Gdańsk. Seven cities received the titles of leaders in sustainable spatial management: Aleksandrów Łódzki, Bolesławiec, Oświęcim, Ełk, Gdynia, Rybnik and Bytom.
