This year’s edition of the Run up the Stairs for a Ceramic Cup was held on Sunday, August 24, at Piłsudski Square. Everyone willing to participate could enter the competition, regardless of age. The event aims both to popularize running as the simplest form of physical activity and to promote Bolesławiec.

Participants had to cover 9 floors, 184 stairs, a 32 m elevation difference, and a 30-metre flat approach to the stairs. After running up to the highest floor of the high-rise, the competitor received from the judge a ceramic cup filled with liquid, which they had to deliver to the finish line. They had to run down without spilling anything. Everything was measured precisely at the finish. For every millilitre of spilled liquid, competitors received additional penalty seconds, which were added to the time achieved in the race.
