In the previous issue of "Głos", we published profiles and photographs of the city’s “fathers”: the Mayor and the Chairperson of the City Council.
We would now like to introduce readers to the City Executive Board, alongside the Mayor of which sit the people presented below.
Adrzej Czarciński
Date of birth: 30 November 1951, in Bolesławiec
Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 31 Staszica Street. Marital and family status: married, two children.
Education: secondary technical education. Occupation and workplace: electronics technician, Zakład Usługowy – SERWIS RTV.
Leisure activities: amateur radio – call sign SP6 AND, member of the Polish SPDK CLUB, cultivating his own allotment. Positions held in municipal bodies: councillor, member of the City Executive Board and member of the Land Management and Construction Committee. Positions held outside local-government bodies: —Party affiliation: non-party. He regards serving as a councillor as: A duty toward our Homeland and the fulfillment of pre-election commitments. It is a civic obligation and an opportunity to eliminate negative phenomena, numerous deficiencies and problems from community life; a school of self-government and democracy; public service in the interests of the local community and the entire city.
Stanisław ANDRUSIECZKO
Date of birth: 17 March 1934. Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 7b Zygmunta Augusta Street, apartment 7.
Marital and family status: married, two adult children with families of their own, three grandchildren. Education: secondary technical education and the Management Organization Study.
Occupation and workplace: technology technician, pensioner.
Leisure activities: helping build his son’s house and cultivating a garden allotment.
Positions held in municipal bodies: councillor, member of the City Executive Board, chairperson of the Civic Affairs and Public Order Team within the Infrastructure and Public Order Committee, chairperson of the SLD Councillors’ Club.
Positions held outside local-government organizations: president of the “Gwarek” Employee Allotment Gardens, secretary of the Provincial Board of the Polish Allotment Holders’ Association in Jelenia Góra.
Party affiliation: non-party.
I regard serving as a councillor as: I consider the functions performed on the Council to be an important task in working for the residents of the city where I have lived for 45 years. The responsibilities entrusted to me provide an opportunity to serve the people who placed their trust in me by electing me as a councillor. As a pensioner, I can devote part of my time to the benefit and good of all residents. I hope that, working together with the entire Council, we will be able to solve existing problems in the economic and cultural spheres, improve healthcare and enhance public order for the benefit of the city’s residents. One important problem for me and the other councillors is finding a site for waste disposal. I will also support activities concerning Employee Allotment Gardens within the city.
Władysław ZUZIAK
Date of birth: 12 January 1942.
Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 23/10 Broniewskiego Street. Marital and family status: married, wife Wanda and daughter Ewa (married).
Education: higher education – surveying engineer.
Occupation and workplace: surveyor, Head of the Surveying Branch at the District Office in Bolesławiec – unpaid leave during the term of office.
Leisure activities: I spend my free time at my POD allotment.
Positions held in municipal bodies: councillor, Deputy Mayor of Bolesławiec.
Positions held outside local-government organizations: none.
Party affiliation: does not belong to a party.
I regard serving as a councillor as: an honor and a difficult task entrusted by the electorate. The main issues concern residential construction and employment. In addition, very important problems requiring urgent resolution include the location and construction of a waste dump and completion of the wastewater treatment plant. As a councillor and board member, I would like to implement all important proposals and motions arising from councillors’ meetings with residents and, under no circumstances, give reason for a critical assessment at the end of the term.
Paweł ŚLIWKO
Date of birth: 27 August 1935.
Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 14/15 B. Prusa Street, apartment 2.
Marital and family status: married, two sons (a master’s-level electronics engineer and a pediatrician), three grandchildren.
Education: higher education (the Study of Drawing and Painting in Katowice, the Higher School of Education in Kraków).
Occupation and workplace: teacher, Master of Pedagogical Sciences specializing in psychology, pensioner.
Leisure activities: writing (journalism, press information, books), graphic art and watercolor painting, working on the allotment (growing flowers).
Positions held in municipal bodies: councillor, member of the City Executive Board, member of the Education, Culture and Sport Committee, member of the Programming Council of Bolesławiec Local Television, Independent Councillors’ Club.
Positions held outside local-government organizations: member of the Association of Polish Authors, activist in the Society of Bolesławiec Enthusiasts, contributor to "Głos Bolesławca" and other periodicals, TPD activist.
Party affiliation: non-party.
I regard serving as a councillor as: responsible civic work for the city and its residents; civic involvement in creating lasting self-government and a local community; overcoming barriers hindering the development of democracy; eliminating bad habits in governance and interpersonal relations; and sharing my rich, long professional experience through professional activities serving all of us—our neighbors, the wider community and the entire city, with which I identify completely. I will devote the entire term of office as a councillor to implementing the electoral program and the genuine needs of the electorate that supported me—in the name of progress, justice and the development of the town on the Bóbr, which is our shared achievement, our pride and our common good. It is a great opportunity and a beautiful form of self-realization, of sharing with other people what is still valuable within me and worth passing on before one finally and irrevocably crosses Conrad’s “shadow line.” It is organic work pro publico bono.
Edward BURNIAK
Date of birth: 26 February 1939.
Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 7 Spółdzielcza Street.
Marital and family status: married, two children.
Education: Master of Mining Engineering. Occupation and workplace: pensioner.
Leisure activities: allotment gardening, playing music in the “Bolusie” band, fishing, and social work on the Committee for the Purchase of Medical Equipment for the Hospital. Positions held: member of the city board, member of the Finance and Development Committee.
Other positions: member of TMB.
Party affiliation: non-party. By serving as a councillor and Board member, he would like to have a greater influence on resolving the city’s urgent matters, in particular:
- a ring road to eliminate through traffic from the city streets,
- renovation of the housing stock,
- development of education, culture and sport, providing young people with greater opportunities for development.
Jan JASIUKIEWICZ
Date of birth: 6 December 1938. Place of residence: Bolesławiec, 18/12 Z. Augusta Street. Marital and family status: married, wife—a teacher, son—a fifth-year student at Wrocław University of Technology.
Education: higher education in economics.
Occupation and workplace: economist, Bolesławiec City Office.
Leisure activities: I am a homebody; I like reading good books. Hobbies: televised sports programs and theater plays.
Positions held in local-government bodies: Deputy Mayor, councillor of the City Council.
