The young vocalists performed on Wednesday, July 30, in front of the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury building. “This is the traditional holiday concert that concludes the school year,” Marek Łętowski, an MDK instructor, told the IstotneInformacje.pl portal. Marek Łętowski“We always work during part of the summer holidays. This holiday concert is the culmination of that summer work,” he added.
The vocal studio participants performed songs by such Polish music stars as Krystyna Prońko, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Majka Jeżowska, Andrzej “Piasek” Piaseczny, Ryszard Rynkowski, Zbigniew Wodecki and Ewa Bem.
The MDK vocal studio’s holiday concert has been organized for four years. However, this was the first time it was held in an unusual setting—the young artists sang on the entrance steps. “Our room upstairs does not meet certain requirements. We decided to offer guests a performance in front of the MDK,” Marek Łętowski explained. “The place is beautiful. The building has been renovated. It is worth showing.”
The Wednesday concert concluded with a song whose original and amusing lyrics were written by the vocal studio participants themselves. The next performance by the MDK students will take place in the autumn.
