On behalf of our Readers and the Towarzystwo MiłośnikówBolesławca, we ask for financial support for our monthly publication, "Głos Bolesławca". We want to become a local and municipal newspaper, on an equal footing with Telewizja Lokalna Bolesławiec. We got through the difficult two-year period of creating our newspaper thanks to the activity and volunteer work of many residents of our town, and to the generosity of sponsors who understood and appreciated the value of the written word. The enthusiasm and dedication of Editor-in-Chief Franciszek Uściński and the TMB Board made it possible to bring together around the affairs of our town its most active residents. The following women and men wrote for "Głos Bolesławca" on an unpaid basis: Franciszek Uściński, Włodzimierz Kowalski, Barbara Berduła, Jana Trawniczek, Zdzisław Mirecki, Beata Waszkiewicz, Krzysztof Olczak, Stanisław Graczyk, Paweł Śliwko, Zygmunt Brusiło, Longin Łukawski, Jan Żuralski, Krzysztof Gruszecki, Krzysztof Bąk, Lucyna Napiórkowska-Fijałkowska, Janina Pietrzak, Andrzej Ostrowski, Maria Tomczyk, Edmund Maliński, Danuta Maślicka, Jan Kos, Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Jerzy Janowicz and many others whom I have not mentioned, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks. This group also included the following schoolgirls: Małgorzta Wesołowska, Agnieszka Dzikowska, Margaritta Roman, Ewa Lipińska, Violetta Sądaj and others. The graphic design was edited on a volunteer basis by: Jan Bancewicz, Mieczysław Żołądź, Stanisław Graczyk and Jan Domaradzki. Reproductions were supplied by Zygmunt Jędrasiak and Zdzisław Mirecki, while photographs were supplied by Stanisław Graczyk...
The list of Bolesławiec residents involved in creating the local newspaper is very long. It would be a shame to waste such great intellectual and creative potential, so diverse in its character and therefore representative of the local community, and, most importantly, open to others.
Through the exchange of ideas, "Głos Bolesławca" can become a general forum for discussion between the local government and its voters, more accessible than local television or even the telephone.
post scriptum
We count on the understanding of the New Local Government and its Committee; may the candle blown out on the cake to celebrate our newspaper's second birthday not be the last...
An Appeal to Councillors
