The man told police that he had picked up two hitchhikers who beat him, then threw him out of the car and drove away. Police began searching for the attackers. It turned out, however, that the alleged victim was not telling the truth and that no attack had taken place. Officers determined that the 23-year-old had been drinking alcohol earlier. He got into the car while drunk. While driving, he lost control of the vehicle, hit a kiosk and drove into a ditch. To avoid responsibility, he invented a story about an attack. Police found the supposedly stolen car at the scene of the collision.

The 23-year-old now faces a sentence of up to three years in prison.
